North Shore Teens Benefit from Opus Framing & Art Supplies Donations

In the spirit of community giving, Opus Framing & Art Supplies on Lonsdale has made a generous donation to the North Shore Neighbourhood House Teen Club program. Opus matched customer donations over the month of December, raising funds to provide the special needs teens with quality art supplies for their art program. The Club's art projects nurture the teens' abilities to creatively express their ideas and individuality, producing art work that is unique and inspiring.
Teen Club Supervisor Dana Robinson states, "Our art program is a huge favourite for our teens. We are thrilled with the generous contribution Opus has made toward art supplies - it will help the teens express themselves, get creative and have fun with art!"

Special Needs Teen Club has been offered at the House for 17 years. The Club is a licensed Out of School care program for special needs teenagers aged 13 to 18 that focus on social and life skill development through exposure to a variety of activities and leisure interests. They have a wide variety of challenges: Autism, Down Syndrome, William's Syndrome, general developmental delays, hearing and visual impairments, psychiatric disorders and learning disabilities.
Teen Club strives to create high quality programming with a balance of in-house and community based activities. Staff work together in cooperation with numerous community partners and families to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

Donations to the Special Needs Teen Club can be made through the North Shore Neighbourhood House, a registered non-profit charity at www.nsnh.bc.ca or by mail or in person at 225 East 2nd Street, North Vancouver, BC V7L 1C4. All donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt.
