Lake Country ArtWalk is not a typical art walk. It is a fabulous two-day arts festival, Saturday, September 8th and Sunday, September 9th, at which over 300 artists exhibit their original artworks of all types. Mixed in with the art displays are dancers, musical performances on 4 stages, a theatre performance, photojournalism, children's art activities, literary arts, workshops, and more. The theme of this year's ArtWalk is Imagine the Masters which will inspire several interesting features including an opportunity to paint with a master painter, a Theme Gallery, and a Mona Lisa Gallery showing over 200 youngsters' re-creations of the Mona Lisa. The support given by Opus, specifically the Kelowna store and staff, is greatly appreciated by Lake Country ArtWalk, and the many artists and visitors who enjoy this arts festival each year.
Opus has been a faithful sponsor of this event for many years, always supporting the children's art activities, and the theme based props and decorations that give each year's festival a fresh face. For several years, the Opus Collaborative Painting Project has enticed over 100 first time and experienced painters to create small paintings that are assembled to form one large painting. We are excited about the new feature that Opus will be adding to ArtWalk this year, that being a group exhibition. We look forward with great anticipation to see the artworks created by the store manager Aaron Metz and his staff at Opus Kelowna. We are sure we will be treated to a great diversity and richness of images. Thank you, Opus!
