The 9th Annual Arts on the Avenue is asking all artists and artisans on Vancouver Island who are interested in selling their art for this wonderful street arts festival in Ladysmith to submit their artwork and crafts. ReVision – the art of recycling is asking for recycled art (art made from anything reused, recycled, salvaged, scrounged or found). Gushul Studio and Collaboration Project, Vancouver Island, Deadline Tuesday, May 15th
The Trap Door Artist Run Centre is offering its second annual collaborative residency for two emerging Alberta artists at the University of Lethbridge's Gushul Studio for October 2007. This project combines skills, knowledge, histories and varied approaches of two individuals working in different media. Each applicant should submit a CV, Artist's statement, 10-15 images (slides or digital) with identifying list, and/or VHS, DVD or audio CD documentation and a paragraph describing why you are interested in participating in this residency or if applying as a team 300 words describing the same as above. Lost and Found, Vancouver, May 11th
Access Artist Run Centre presents the Lost and Found website, the second half of a collaborative project produced with the Powell Street Festival Society. Lost and Found was originally a group exhibition featuring the work of Judy Chartrand, Wayde Compton and Haruko Okano. Through an artistic residency, the three artists were asked to consider lost and forgotten "histories" that both linger and disappear within the context of the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, BC (DTES). CARFAC Meeeting, Nanaimo, May 19th
Canadian Artists Representation (CARFAC) is an organization for professional artists in Canada. On Saturday May 19th from 4-6pm, a CARFAC meeting for artists who want to join and members will be held at Nanaimo Public Art Gallery. Members are asked to bring 10 slides.
