Basic Inquiry Centre for the Figurative Arts is a non-profit space that was established in 1983 by Gerry Kelly. The space was conceived as a way to give artists an open studio to draw and paint nude models, and encourages the appreciation and production of figurative art. The Studio provides a friendly and positive place to practice figure drawing and painting.
The Basic Lifedrawing Studio is open 365 days a year with 9 sessions per week including a Portraiture Workshop and Gesture Drawing with short and long poses up to 30 minutes in length.
Basic Inquiry is moving to a new location and they invite you to join them on Saturday, June 16th from 7pm-10:30pm for their Grand Opening Celebration. The new space is located at 1011 Main Street in Vancouver. So come by and see all the great classes that are available in this non-critical atmosphere.
We also encourage you to become a member, as new members are always welcome and your membership fee is an important way to help keep vibrant community spaces like this thriving for years to come.
