The Arts & Culture Commission of North Vancouver is pleased to announce the 10th annual Art Symposium on Saturday, February 3rd, 2007, 9am to 4pm, at the John Braithwaite Community Centre, 145 West 1st Street (1 block from the Seabus and Opus North Vancouver).

The event will feature a FREE Art Marketplace Trade Fair from 1pm to 4pm.

With informative presentations and hands-on workshops lead by outstanding professionals in their field, this year's Art Symposium will prove to be invaluable to both emerging and professional artists. This Professional Development Forum will afford a unique opportunity for participants to build cultural relationships, partake in educational workshops, access valuable resources and share creative vision.

The day will begin with a keynote address by Max Wyman, one of Canada's leading cultural commentators; followed by focus sessions on the 2010 Cultural Olympiad and Olympic Arts Festival hosted by Program Director, Robert Kerr.

Workshop essentials will include: Digital Photography for Artists; Professional Portfolio Presentation; How to Write a Novel Synopsis; Board Governance and the ABC's of Public Art; Self Care, Creativity & Art Therapy.

We are also presenting a one of a kind songwriting session with Roy Forbes!

Enjoy the Arts Marketplace Trade Fair (1pm- 4pm) where a broad array of cultural agencies, businesses and individuals who provide goods and services to artists show, sell and tell.

Take in student produced art films; join in our series of hands on technique and material workshops presented by Opus Framing & Art Supplies; access the resource area; participate in a contest; and connect with fellow artists over a great lunch by Tour de Feast Catering.

Don't miss this outstanding opportunity! Register early — class sizes are limited!

For complete registration details visit the Arts Commission website www.arts-alive.ca or call 604-980-3559.
