Jerry-Lee Cerny
Granville Island, Saturday February 3rd, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Soapstone Carving ~ Everyone of all ages and abilities is invited to come and learn the ABC's of sculpting soapstone. Jerry-Lee will also talk and answer questions about general sculpting techniques and tools.

Jerry-Lee is a sculptor and painter with a diploma and Certificate of Fine Arts and has had art training in Italy and Greece. She also teaches drawing and has taught some sculpting. Contact Jerry-Lee at samanthaj281@hotmail.com

Simon Cantin
North Vancouver, Saturday February 3rd, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Carving in Stone ~ See Simon carve Brazilian soapstone from scratch and learn the tools of the trade, including what to use and when. His knowledge and understanding of both 2D and 3D helps in visualizing and creating his carvings.

Robert Bowen

Alaprima with Winsor & Newton Artisan Oils ~ Robert will demonstrate his techniques while painting a still life. Robert is a multi-disciplined artist whose goal is to paint and draw forms as they appear to his eye, while exploring the role of mark making and the blending of colour.

Using oil paints, stencils and spatulas, Frank will show his method of how the figure can be painted, without painting the figure at all.

Watercolour on Rice Paper ~ Eileen will demonstrate from start to finish a painting on rice paper, using a blend of Chinese brush painting and watercolour painting techniques. She will highlight the uniqueness of Chinese brush painting, its simple colours and spontaneous brush strokes.
