Call for Entry, Vancouver, August 6th
Feeling Creative? Come out and play on BC Day! Granville Island's 4th Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest is being held on Monday, August 6th . Start colouring the island at 9am and judging begins at 3pm. The event is free and chalk is provided. Registration is limited and groups are welcome. This is an initiative of the Granville Island Business and Community Association and sponsored by local businesses and artists. Call for Entries, Parksville, Deadline August 15th
The Oceanside Community Arts Council in Parksville is asking for assemblage work for their show We Are Assembled to be exhibited in November. There is no theme, but must be an assemblage and must incorporate found objects. Maximum of two works can be submitted and final size must be carried by hand unaided and fit through the gallery door. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 15th. Submissions must include 6 slides, or cd of current work, artist's statement, CV and SASE. Call to Artists, Saanich, Deadline August 15th
The Community Arts Council of the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island is asking artists to submit for their Fifth Annual Sidney Fine Art Show at the Mary Winspear Centre in October. Submissions can be 2-D or 3-D and any medium. The deadline for receipt of entry form and payment is Wednesday, August 15th at The Community Arts Council at #103 - 2423 Beacon Ave. in Sidney, BC. Call for Artists, Trail, Deadline August 31st
The International Mail Art Exhibit to be held in Trail, BC is asking artists to submit all visual and verbal forms of correspondence including letters, photographs, concrete and visual poetry, postcards, artist books, collage and artist trading cards are welcome to their call for submissions for mail art with a theme of Animals ’Äì Real and Imaginary. The Comox Valley Art Gallery is seeking artists who are interested in participating in the 14th Annual Comox Valley Art Gallery Studio Tour. The Sooke Fall Fair in Sooke on Vancouver Island has created a new section titled Literary Arts that encompasses all aspects of the written word to be part of the Sooke Fall Fair Literary & Arts Gala 2007 as well as they already established arts section. The Arts Gala also includes a dynamic section on art including oil, acrylic, pastel and other mediums. The arts section is open to emerging and already established artists. The deadline to apply for the arts section is Friday, August 31st at 5pm. Please drop off submission by mail or at the Legion Hall. Come out and see the Watermark Printmakers Society Art Show Interleaving at the Martin Batchelor Gallery in Victoria. The gallery is located at 712 Cormorant Street and open from 10am-5pm daily. Join international mural maker Richard Tetrault at The Denman Island Arts Centre for a 3 day workshop Murals from the Ground Up on Friday, August 10th until Sunday, August 12th. 30th Annual 3-Day Novel Contest, Cranbrook, Deadline August 24th
