The Fraser Valley Watercolour Society's annual Spring 2007 Art Show runs from Wednesday, April 11th to Monday, April 23rd at the Clearbrook Library in Abbotsford. The Magenta Foundation invites Canadian painters to submit for their publication of Carte Blanche Vol. 2 Painting. Instructors needed, Richmond:
The Richmond Artist Guild is seeking instructors to demonstrate techniques. Meetings take place at the Richmond Cultural Centre located at 180-7700 Minoru Gate on the second Wednesday of each month from 7pm-9pm. Call for entry, Sooke, Deadline Sept 1st:
The Sooke Fall Fair which has been held since 1913, invites emerging and established artists, photographers, and writers to submit to their arts gala. They have created a new Literary Art section that encompasses all aspects of the written word, as well as entries in journalism with photos, an illustrated children's book and songwriting. The Photography and Art sections of the Fair will be banding together with the new Literary Arts section to hold a Photography, Literary and Arts Gala.

You do not need to live in the area in order put in an entry. Mail entries are accepted in the Photography and Literary sections, but the Art section must have an advance entry form submitted. Deadline is Saturday, September 1st.There well be commercial space available to sell related items such as reprints, art cards, and other items. Also, your item will have a tag stating if it is available for purchase after the Fair, there will be no commissions on the sale of items. Special prizes of cash and store gift certificates are available in all three sections. Opus is proud to sponsor this event which takes place Saturday September 8th and Sunday September 9th. Artists are invited to submit proposals for work in any medium for the Station House Gallery in Williams Lake, BC. Artists or artisans in any medium may submit proposals. Two Blues Legends, Vancouver, Friday, April 27th at 7pm
Performing live at The Art Center are Chris Whiteley & Diana Braithwaite on Friday, April 27th, doors open at 7pm. Chris Whiteley has been playing blues for over 30 years and has appearances with such greats as Taj Mahal, Chuck Berry and John Lee Hooker and received six juno nominations.
