Botanical Paintings in Watercolour ~ Charles will be working on a botanical watercolour painting, answering questions and explaining aspects of watercolour in relation to botanical works. Charles is a member of the FCA. His work has been exhibited at The Victoria Community Arts Council Gallery, The Emily Carr House Gallery and The Goward House Gallery.

Elizabeth Harris-Nichols

Paint in Acrylics like The Group of Seven ~ Learn the basics with Elizabeth as she creates dynamic landscapes using acrylic paints, impasto medium and the shapes of Post-Impressionistic style. The focus will be on colour usage, brush selection, composition and medium.
Elizabeth is a long time instructor teaching painting and drawing in her studio Bad Dog Arts in North Vancouver. She studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and exhibits extensively in both commercial and public galleries. Working with Traditional Pastels ~ Watch Andrew as he creates a painting using layers of Schmincke pastels and black Arcches Cover paper as his base. He will also explain the importance of spray fixing pastel paintings. Andrew was born in England and moved to Canada where he received a diploma in graphic design and illustration from Capilano College.

Rick Raxlen
Victoria, Saturday April 21st, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Rotoscoping with Rick ~ Rick will be demonstrating rotoscoping, an animation technique that involves tracing 16mm frames onto animation paper or clear cells to be inked or painted later. Some finished samples will be available for viewing. Rick Raxlen's work has been screened nationally and internationally at venues such as the National Gallery in Ottawa, the AGGV and the MOMA.

Suzanne Sommersgill
Granville Island, Saturday April 21st, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Having Fun with Block Printing ~ Suzanne will be demonstrating block printing, and how she uses scribbling and words from vintage catalogues and found objects. She uses unconventional surfaces, such as wood scraps and discarded papers to emphasize her passion for recycling. Suzanne's work shows her love of detail and her obsession for bits, pieces and found objects.

Mike Svob
Langley, Saturday April 28th, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Painting a Landscape in Acrylics ~ Mike will be painting an imipressionistic landscape while demonstrating wet in wet technique at the beginning, then overpainting using transparent and opque passages to comlete the design..
