    Art Theft in Kelowna

Between 12:00pm on Saturday April 8 and 12:00pm on Monday April 10, three artworks were stolen from the Rotary Centre of the Arts in Kelowna BC. Paintings by artists Julia Trops and by Lauren Wilson and a drawing by artists Louise Walton. These framed artworks were all in the Livessence Society of Figurative Arts display on the main floor just outside the Harmony Honda Painting and Drawing Room. This is the second time in as many months the Rotary Centre for the Arts has been hit. A police report has been filed, but it is unlikely the artworks will be recovered. Artists and residents in the area speculate that this is a result of an organized art theft ring, or, that the thefts are fueled by the need of drug addicts to fund their addiction. If anyone has any information about these thefts please contact Julia Trops at 250-215-0079 or email julia@juliatrops.com
