This annual juried exhibition celebrates graduating School District #43 visual arts students planning to pursue post secondary arts programs and careers. Visions of Shakespeare

The Kootenay Region’s 1st International Mail Art exhibit invites artists to submit all visual/verbal forms of correspondence/mail art including letters, concrete/visual poetry, postcards, artwork, collages, photographs, artist trading cards, and more. Graphite Delight
Wendy Mould and Brenda Hill invite you to their show Graphite Delight at Arts Corner, Ladner Pioneer Library, located at 4683 51st St in Delta, BC. This is a unique opportunity to come and experience the magic of pencil bringing life to animals and everyday objects. Body and Soul
Join Suzanne Northcott at the Langham Summer School of the Arts, located in Kalso, BC. Her workshop Body and Soul: Exploring figure through drawing and watermedia takes place Monday July 31st to Thursday August 3rd. This course will lead you through the challenging and exciting journey of learning to portray the human figure. Beginning with gesture each day and to longer poses, you will explore line, tone, proportion and foreshortening. The emphasis will be on learning to see as well as learning to trust your intuition. Suzanne’s passion for this subject, depth of knowledge and one-on-one instruction style will help you dive into this domain and begin to develop your own language for drawing the figure. Students will have the choice as the week progresses to stay with pencil and conte or to work in watercolour or acrylic for the longer poses. This course will help intermediate students with their drawing and perception skills and will greatly benefit anyone wanting to paint figure or portrait. The course fee is $295. Art Rush
Gallery Vertigo in Vernon, BC is once again hosting this exciting event to bring visitors to artists' studios. All area artists are invited to open their studios to the public and to participate in a studio tour on Saturday August 12th and Sunday August 13th, 2006 from 10:00am-4:00pm each day. Only artists who participate in the tour will be included in the accompanying exhibition at Gallery Vertigo which will run from Tuesday August 8th to Saturday August 26th. Each participating artist is allowed to submit one work for the exhibition. The gallery will be selling $20 passports to the event in order to raise funds in support of gallery operations. Opus Langley's 10th Annual Children's Art Exhibition
Opus Langley is holding an open call for their annual art exhibition to children under the age of 16. All artwork must be completed on an official 12" x 12" form which is available for pick up only at our Langley store as of July 1st. All completed entries must be received by Monday July 31st. Work can be created in any medium provided it is attached to the form and fits a 12" x 12" frame. Artwork will be displayed for the entire month of August at our Opus Langley store.
