Artful Sundays

Artful SundaysOnce again Britannia Community Centre presents the 2nd Annual Artful Sundays. This event is an outdoor, multimedia, non-juried, visual arts market featuring the diverse talents of local artists. It all happens every Sunday in August from 12:00pm–5:00pm in Napier Square (Napier and Commercial Drive) in Vancouver, BC.

Artful Sundays is a great opportunity for artists, both emerging and established, to demonstrate, show and sell their work—and for the community to see and support local art. Fifty artists will be featured throughout the month in all media including paint, clay, mixed media, collage, printmaking, paper arts, photography, leather, metal, sculpture and glass. Also planned are various children's art activities, on-site artist demonstrations and wandering musicians. New this year is The Tea Tent where the public can sample, buy and enjoy "the art of tea."

Napier Square Greenway is a reclaimed and renovated walkway leading into the Britannia Community Centre and the Britannia Library from Commercial Drive. It features various art projects including benches, carved poles, mosaic tiles, murals and an everchanging display of plants. It is the perfect outdoor setting for public events and is also used by many who live in this neighbourhood as a place to rest and enjoy its special ambiance. Artist application forms can be picked up at the Britannia Information Centre. For more information contact Katherine Polgrain at 604-718-5800.
