Interior Savings Art for Kids' Sake 2005
This fundraising and awareness building campaign brings together the talents
of the vibrant Okanagan art community and hundreds of Okanagan children in need
who either already have, or are waiting for, a Big Brother or Big Sister.
Interior Savings Art for Kids' Sake 2005 is based around a travelling art exhibition,
profiling 24 pieces of original art donated by generous Okanagan artists. The public
is invited to buy raffle tickets for $10 and to specify the piece of art they would
most like to win. At the end of the campaign there is a separate draw for each individual
piece is worth up to $3,000 each. The show will be at Picture Perfect in Kelowna
from September 1st to 15th, then at Orchard Park Shopping Centre from September
16th-23rd and finally Quails' Gate Estate Winery from September 25th until the draw
date of October 6th, 2005. Be sure to stop by one of the show venues, admire the
art and support children.you never know, your favorite piece could be gracing your

Maple Ridge Art Gallery Call for Proposals
The Queen Charlotte Islands Art Route, a self-guided studio tour, takes place
from June to September 2005. With more than 40 artist studios and galleries to visit,
each island community offers a chance to meet artists who work in a wide range of
media from traditional Haida carving to oil, acrylic and watercolour painting. Look
for the AR logo in studio windows. Pick up the free Art Route brochure from Queen

Place des Arts' Open House
Opus is proud to support Place des Arts as they open their doors for curious community
members on Sunday September 18th, 2005 from 1:30pm-4:30pm. The public is invited
to tour their facilities, learn about the organization, watch students in action
and experience some of the amazing aspects of Place des Arts firsthand. There will
be an instrument playground, free workshops, hands-on activities and exhibitions.

Art-full Fridays
The VanDusen Botanical Garden celebrates its 30th birthday with Art-full Fridays
featuring art shows and sales, tours, lectures, and demonstrations and workshops

Ferry Building Call for Artists
The Ferry Building Gallery is calling all past and present North Shore artists for
a juried exhibition to take place in 2006. The gallery is asking for artists to
drop off 3 finished and framed pieces of artwork (3D work is also welcome), approximately
20 photographs of current work, a short written concept or proposed theme of the
exhibition (optional), CV and a $15 jury fee. You must not have had a solo exhibition
in any of the Ferry Building Gallery, Silk Purse Gallery or West Vancouver Library
with the past 24 months, and must not have shown in the Ferry Building Gallery in
Group Exhibits within the past 12 months. Drop-off: Sunday, September 25th 9:00am-11:00am

Rick F. Foulger's Opening Reception
Nelson, British Columbia artist Rick F. Foulger is pleased to invite everyone to

CACGV Gallery's Exhibits
In September, the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria features four art exhibits
in September. Starting Thursday September 1st to Wednesday September 7th is Miles
Hastings Eldredge's New Contemporary Works. From Thursday September 8th to Wednesday
September 21st is the 5th Annual Monday Magazine Photo Contest & Show. From Thursday
September 22nd to Wednesday September 28th is the juried art show, Seen in Esquimalt,
by the Esquimalt Arts and Craft Painters Group. From Thursday September 29th to

Calona Vineyards' Wine Bottle Label Competition
Calona Vineyards invites artists to submit artwork for the labels of its high profile
Artist Series 2005 vintages. The pairing of their vintner's expression of taste
with an artist's visual statement is what makes Calona Vineyards Artist Series innovative.
The focus and judging will be on art by BC artists which best reflects the spirit
of BC. The winner will receive a $1000 honorarium, particpate in a media launch
event and artist's reception, and will receive the first 12 bottles of the 2005
Artist Series vinage, autographed by the winemaker on the release of the wine. To
submit artwork, send a portfolio of no more than 10 images of art to Calona Vineyards.
Please do not send original paintings as submissions will not be returned. Deadline

Squamish ArtWalk and Gallery Tour
Squamish's 4th Annual ArtWalk will take place on Saturday September 17th
and Sunday September 18th from 11:00am-5:00pm each day. This event provides a rare
opportunity for the community and visitors to meet the artists in their studios
and observe them at work. Artists will be demonstrating their skills in a wide variety
of mediums including woodworking, pottery, painting, metalwork, textile arts, stained

Artist Talk with Suzanne Northcott
Join Suzanne Northcott on Thursday, September 22nd from 7:30pm - 9:30pm for an Artist Talk and Reception at the Surrey Art Gallery.
After a brief introduction to her work, the artist will lead a tour of her installation and guide the audience into an exploration of the themes, mysteries and experiences she explores in her work: the nature and construct of boundaries, metaphor, dreams and the language of the subconscious.
