Emily Carr's Student Art Show and Sale

The 25th annual show and sale featuring student works opens Friday November 26 to Sunday November 28th. Each year a wide range of exciting original and editioned work is available for purchase. The show's hours are Friday November 26th from 12:00pm-8:00pm, Saturday from 10:00am-6:00pm and Sunday from
12:00pm-5:00pm. The show and sale takes place at the Concourse Gallery at Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design located at 1399 Johnston Street in Granville Island. Admission is free. For details call 604-844-3075.

9th Annual Eastside Culture Crawl

This popular studio tour is back for its annual 3-day event that involves artists who live in Vancouver's Eastside. The Port Moody Art Association is presents its 38th Annual Arts Show and Sale of Original Paintings at the Port Moody Social Recreation Centre located at 300 Ioco Road. Seeking Old Opus Frames

The Grand Forks Art Gallery is looking for artists who may be interested in donating old Opus Metal Exhibition frames. The gallery is looking to build their inventory to make it easier to accommodate traveling exhibitions and accept matted but unframed works. The Opus Metal Exhibition frames are backloading, making it easy to change artwork quickly and with little effort. Tax receipts will be provided to those who have frames to donate. Colony Park Impressions 2005

Coquitlam's Colony Farm Park became the place of choice for Coquitlam-based artist Thomas Cetnarowski. Since late spring 2005, he started open air sessions in the park documenting in his oil paintings the nature, and beautiful scenery of this place. Community Art Matching Fund Workshops

The Community Art Matching Fund provides support for neighbourhood-based art projects that bring people together and improve and develop parks and facilities on city owned land, including libraries, fire halls, community centres, parks and more. This workshop will give you the opportunity to meet fellow artists and community groups and see presentations by artists and community groups who have participated in the past. Also learn more about the Community Art Matching Fund application. The workshops take place at Bear Creek Park Pavilion, across the parking lot from the Surrey Arts Centre, located at 13750 88th Ave. The workshops are on Wednesday November 9th or Thursday November 17th from 7:00pm-8:30pm on both days. Out of the Rain

This multi-faceted art event will create awareness about homelessness in Vancouver and raise funds to benefit people living on the street. Gallery Gachet's exhibition kicks off with a performance event Out of the Storm on Friday November 4th at 10:00pm. On Thursday November 17th, the month of citywide events will culminate at a gala event, silent auction and fundraiser at the Roundhouse. Mayworks Project

The Vancouver Island Mayworks Project is accepting submissions for its May 2006 work-related exhibit. This year's show deals with generally unrecognized forms of work and is titled "Working without a Net". The Opus Visual Arts Newsletter welcomes submissions related to calls for submissions, fundraising initiatives, art events, and unique art initiatives being undertaken by non-profit visual arts organizations or groups, with a focus on Canadian art practices and events occurring within Western Canada predominately.
