Vancouver Garden Show
Artists are invited to submit artwork for Canada's largest outdoor garden show,
the Vancouver Garden Show at VanDusen Botanical Gardens on June 9th-12th,
2005. The theme is Art in the Garden and many artists will be featured there.
Work must be hand-crafted, for garden use or inspired by a garden. Work will either
be incorporated into a feature or display garden, or used as decor in various areas
around the garden. An exhibit area or installation may be considered for artists

Port Kells Art Club
The Port Kells Arts Club invites you to their annual spring show Colourful Impressions
III. This one day show includes original paintings in watercolours, acrylics, oils
and pastels. The show runs 10:00am-4:00pm May 29th, 2005 from at the Fort Langley

Gallery at the Mac's Call for Artists
The Gallery at the Mac in Victoria, invites Capital Regional District artists working
in 2D and in any media to submit artwork, for a series of exhibitions from
August 29th-June 26th, 2006, each lasting 7 weeks. Submission deadline is May 31st,
2005. Artists should submit their CV, artist statement, a maximum of 20 recent slides
or photos of work and an exhibition proposal to Director/Curator Jeff Molloy, The
Gallery at the Mac, Royal & McPherson Theatres Society, 2-804 Broughton Street,
Victoria, BC, V8W 1E4.
Moffat & Lillo Award
Mature Westcoast theatre artists are invited to apply for the John Moffat & Larry
Lillo Award. The recipient will receive a $1,500 cash award. Applicants must be
BC residents, or be able to demonstrate a body of work on or related to the West
Coast. They must have a minimum on 10 years professional theatre experience, including
but not limited to areas of performance, directing, technical, design or stage managment.
Applications must contain a project proposal, a resume, and two references. Deadline

Fraser Valley Quilters Guild
The Fraser Valley Quilters Guild wishes to announce it's upcoming show Quilts: Layers
of tradition. Over 400 quilts, all made by guild members will be on display. The
show will include a merchant mall, demonstrations, tea room and raffle.
Proceeds from the Raffle quilt will go the the local transition house. Show runs
May 13th from 10:00am - 8:00pm, May 14th from 10:00am - 5:00pm and May 15th from
10:00am- 4:00pm. The show will be held at the Richmond Curling Rink at 5540 Hollybridge

South Delta's Oil and Water
The South Delta Artists' Guild in Tsawwassen is having their first juried show Oil
and Water from July 28th-August 27th, 2005. Entry is by slide only with a limit
of 3 slides. Categories for entry include works on paper (no photography or prints)
and work on canvas or board. Works must be original and not created from a workshops
and not previously hung in a gallery. Works asre not to exceed 4' x 6' including
frame. A "Best of Show" cash prize of $500 will be awarded as well as numerous other
cash prizes. Submission deadline is June 2nd, 2005. Entry forms are available at

Foyer Art Program's Call for Entry
The Langley Centennial Museum and National Exhibition Centre invites artists to
submit slides or photographs of recent artwork, in any medium, for consideration
in the Foyer Art 2005/2006 Program. Exhibition space is available at ther Langley
Centennial Museum and the Township of Langley Municipal Hall. These sites can accommodate
between four to eight pieces of artwork, depending on the size of the pieces. The
site are best suited to exhibit 2D artwork, although 3D artwork may be considered.
All submissions will be adjudicated by a jury committee, selected by the Community
& Heritage Services Department. This call is open to all artists of BC. Preference
will be given to artists who are residents of the Township of Langley, the city
of Langley and the Fraser Valley area. No artwork will have been shown previously
in any juried exhibit or art gallery in the past year. Submission deadline is June
20th, 2005 at 4:00pm at the Langley Centennial Museum and National Exhibition Centre

Main Street Drift's Call for Artists & Businesses
The Drift's Artist and Business Committee invites applications from artists and
businesses wishing to be involved in the 2005 Main Street Drift on October 1st-2nd,
2005. The weekend is kicked off with a Gala event the evening before, on
September
30th, 2005. The Main Street Drift Society helps to foster, develop and advance artistic
and creative endeavours and provide opportunities for local artists and artisans
to increase public awareness and appreciation of the arts. This year's Drift will
move further into community participation by involving activities such as mural
painting and children's art in addition to showcasing art by local artists in the
businesses and studios in and around Main Street. Registration before June 1st,

In its 9th year, the VADA assist BC's emerging or mid-career visual artists and artisans. The initiative is to encourage the development of new skills and techniques. BC visual artists and artisans from all cultures working in traditional or contemporary methods or mediums are eligible. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of merit and quality of proposals. Grants range in size from $3,000 to $5,000. Deadline for receipt of completed applications is May 29th, 2005 at 5:00pm. City of Kelowna's Call for Artists
The City of Kelowna's Public Art Committee is inviting artists to enter an open
two stage, public art competition worth up to $40,000. One artist, or a team of
artists, will receive a commission to create a permanent art installation for placement
alongside the linear creekside pathway known as the Mission Creek Greenway (Phase
1). Preference will be given to poposals which incorporate the use of natural materials

Harrison's Call for Artists
The Harrison Festival of the Artsis seeking 12-15 outdoor installations to be shown
in various locations throughout Harrison Hot Springs during the 2005 Harrison Festival
of the Arts. Artists should submit to the Festival your CV, including websites which
display your work, your installation proposal for the festival or picture of installation.
Artists must be prepared to install and strike their works from the site they have

Weekend Watercolour Workshops at Saturna Lodge
Experience the excitement of creating your own personal paintings from a varitey
of subject matter, including the lush gardens of the Saturna Lodge and the beautiful
shoreline of Saturna Island. Workshops will be small, with a maximum of 12 participants
each. Emphasis will be placed on understanding basic handling of the watercolour
medium as well as exploring creative approaches to colour and technique. Choose
one of two workshops currently being offered, both featuring instruction by full-time
artists with different and unique painting styles. Sign up for both classes and
