We are often looking at new ways to share ideas and information with you. This summer we are excited to introduce our first Opus Summer Artist Series, where you will have an opportunity to stop by our stores and learn some new techniques or gather new ideas from unique and interesting artists working in a variety of media. Granville Island:July 14th 2:00pm-4:00pm Jane is a Canadian/British watercolourist who is currently pursuing her love of painting with Impressionist renditions of floral, architectural and landscape images. She works in watercolour, acrylic and oil with exclusive use of flat and bright brushes and her trademark china plate palette. Jane is currently a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Artistes de France and Arts et Lettres. Her works are featured in the commercial collections of the Royal Bank of Canada and in private collections in North America and abroad. She has taught beginner to advanced art classes for the past 10 years. Catch Jane demonstrate her exotic, tropical and Spanish flavoured painting style. Langley:July 23rd 2:00pm-4:00pm Violette has a passion for bringing creativity into everything she touches. She lives her life out loud and by doing so inspires others to do the same. Sometimes her best advice is to "Let Silly in!" Her work has appeared in Artella Magazine, Somerset Studio and a variety of other publications. She has designed a line of greeting cards, rubberstamps, scrapbooking illustrations and lettering. Join Violette for a demonstration on collage techniques which can be used for journaling or altered books. Violette's demonstration will be followed by a Q&A session. Granville Island:July 28th, 2:00pm-4:00pm North Vancouver: July 29th, 2:00pm-4:00pm David has worked in pen and ink, watercolours, and has focused on acrylics for the last 14 years. His motive and inspiration is "to capture the essence of what I am seeing, with no redundancy and no hesitation". David has been influenced by the Japanese master Hokusai, whose ambition was to live and paint until "every line and dot on the page is alive". Stop by as David sets up his easel in our store to paint for a couple of hours, and ask him questions or just observe.
