Artropolis & 2010 Olympics Public Forum

Opus will host an open meeting to determine if there is interest in a visual arts Olympic celebration, different models of showcasing visual art and about the future of Artropolis. The meeting will be held at the H. R. MacMillan Space Centre (the Planetarium), located at 1100 Chestnut Street, in Vancouver on Wednesday, January 26th, 2005 at 7:00pm. The North Vancouver Community Arts Council invites submission entries for an exhibition on the theme BreakAGE—Stories about the Age of Breakage at the CityScape Community Art Space from March 11th-April 3rd, 2005. Electronic Arts Canada (EAC) invites post-secondary students to submit a five minute 3-D digital animated short to this first ever competition. The grand prize winner will be awarded $20,000 cash, with the winner?s school receiving a grant in the same amount. Ten other cash prizes will also be awarded. Entrants must be graduating between December 2004 and May 2005. The deadline for submissions is April 1st, 2005. For details visit

The North Kootenay Lake Arts & Heritage Council's 4th annual Salon of the Arts is a free night of entertainment, an exhibit specifically for visual artists, and a live and silent auction. The visual arts show will be held in the Langham Galleries and opens from 2:00-4:00pm on January 8th, 2005. The performance night will be on January 15th, 2005 at 7:00pm with doors opening at 6:30pm. Delta Arts Council invites Lower Mainland artists to participate in "artSpacific 2005" our 4th annual juried exhibition. Entry is by slide only and must be at the Firehall Centre for the ARts at 11489 - 84th Avenue, Delta on or before March 11th, 2005. The show runs from April 16th (1-5pm) to May 6th, 2005.
