Life Drawing with L.A.U.G.H
Locating Alignment Under Gamboge Haze or L.A.U.G.H. is offering two hour life drawing sessions at the Douglas Recreation Center located at 20550 Douglas Crescent in Langley. Sessions are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 7:45pm. There is a $5.00 drop-in fee, bring your supplies and raw drawing skills. The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation invites artists from all disciplines to submit applications for their Artist in Residence Program. The residencies provide an artist's fee and a materials budget. Projects may take place at any time of year as long as they are completed within 2005. Application packages are available at various Community Centres and the Park Board Office located on 2099 Beach Avenue. Seymour Art Gallery is accepting submissions for the DisCOVEry 2005 exhibition to be held January 10th - February 6th, 2005. This year's theme is Pith: an important or essential part. All BC artists are invited to submit one original artwork per artist or collaboration in any media, which has been completed after January 2004. Gabriola Island hosts BC's largest home-based studio tour on Thanksgiving weekend, October 9th-11th, 2004, featuring over 80 of Gabriola's finest artists, working in a range of media from painting, photography, sculpture, fibre arts and more. Spend an art-filled weekend in White Rock touring 11 different White Rock artists' studios. This is an opportunity to meet artists in their own unique work environments and learn about the art making process from oils, pottery, printmaking and more. VanDusen Garden is a not-for-profit organization that has been an important botanical and horticultural resource for the Vancouver Community for more than 25 years. They will be offering art classes in Coloured pencil sketching October 23rd, 30th and November 6th, 2004. Members pay $65 and non-members pay $72.
