Emily Carr Institute?s Alumni Society established a Listserv called Dear Emily. It became an excellent resource for visual artists very quickly. It was recently shut down when the Institute?s Foundation and Development department was re-structured. The good news is that the Alumni Society has inaugurated a Forum—a different kind of e-community similar to a Listserv—to support visual artists. Forums allow artists to engage in discussions by topic, but like a Listserv, the community works best when there are many "subscribers" or users. Visit the Dear Emily Forum at
forums.eciad.ca
