To jump-start this special event the fundraiser's biggest sponsor, Scotia McLeod is holding the Scotia Mcleod Corporate Painting Party on May 31st, 2004. Participating companies will stir up some creative energy by painting their image on canvas. These works will be showcased and auctioned off at the silent auction. The "Golden Brush Award" will be given to the company whose artwork receives the highest bid.

This year Opus will not only provide paint and canvas for the Scotia McLeod Corporate Painting Party, but our Opus Victoria Staff will also participate in this fun event.

Night of Artists was created by artist Phil Alain in 1997 as an alternative social arts evening with music, food, dancing and drinks. The event drew a large crowd of art and music enthusiasts and also created new ones. Upon realizing the success of the event, Alain expanded the concept to include more artists and more musicians. Within seven short years Night of Artists had expanded to eight different towns and cities across western Canada, with the artists involved working with local charities and organizations to give back to the community what had been received in support of their art careers. In the past seven years over $50,000 has been raised by the artists and musicians involved.

This year's Victoria event will be held at the Mary Win Spear Centre in Sidney, BC. Performances will start at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $20.00 per person.
