Improved Traffic Flow to Granville Island

Approximately six years ago the CMHC and the City of Vancouver began the task of improving the traffic flow to Granville Island. The most noticeable part of this process has been felt by Granville Island visitors and area residents over the last few months. There have been some delays in the construction, but we are pleased to let you know that once finished these efforts will result in operational traffic lights and two lanes on and off Granville Island. A new walkway has been established on the west side of the causeway, making room for a fourth lane of traffic.

During the months of May and June, Lamey's Mill Road will also undergo changes. These traffic calming measures will improve safety for the residents, while extra lanes on and off Granville Island will eliminate the current use of Lamey's Mill Road to access Granville Island. We look forward to the construction being complete, and the easier access this will bring for our Granville Island Opus customers.
