Drawing the World: Masters to Hipsters

Drawing offers special opportunities to depict the world we live in. The act of drawing is immediate and personal, yet it also embodies larger cultural values. In an unprecedented assemblage of riches, the Vancouver Art Gallery will be presenting a suite of five exceptional exhibitions that reveal the rich and diverse worlds of drawing. By presenting drawing from many cultural traditions, from east to west, north to south, and from the sixteenth century to today, these exhibitions will offer candid views of the worlds as revealed through the hand of the artist.

To further celebrate the act of drawing, Opus is pleased to to partner with the Vancouver Art Gallery, Pacific Centre and Centre Estival des Arts de Montaigut-le Blanc, France, to create a summer 'cultural drawing extravaganza' in the Vancouver community. From June 28th to September 21st, we are working together to provide a unique perspective on the practice and process of art making. This event will be of value to artists — whatever their stage of development — as well as to those who appreciate art, or may even be completely new to it.

Come celebrate drawing with us by sharing in these unique opportunities:
