For over 30 years, Opus Framing & Art Supplies has provided fine art materials and framing to the visual arts community. In this time, we have worked hard to develop our business in a manner which provides adjunct resources and support to our customers.

As a result of this focus, Opus is a keen advocate for the advancement of the visual arts in Western Canada. We do this through producing a monthly visual arts newsletter which is emailed to all our customers, or available online, as well as providing in-store events and artist demos.

Opus also believes in contributing to the arts community through a company-wide Donation Programme. Our Donation Programme supports non-profit visual arts organizations, societies and schools pursuing visual art and art education initiatives in their communities. We support qualifying groups with discounts, donations of art materials for events, or gift certificates which can be used towards the purchase of art materials at Opus. We can also include event details in our newsletter, to help further promote your initiative. Please note that we do not generally provide cash donations, but instead support groups by providing the art materials needed to make your event a success.

Opus endeavours to support as many organizations as possible each month by ensuring that our budget is distributed fairly. We will often choose to assist numerous groups with smaller donations, rather than choosing to only assist one or two groups with a larger donation. In keeping with this approach, we are not always able to assist the same group for multiple years in a row, however we always encourage you to apply again with different events. Please note that due to the volume of requests received, we cannot guarantee assistance to all requests.

1. How to Apply: If you feel your organization has a project on the go which falls within our general criteria and is in need of assistance with materials, please feel free to submit a donation request to us.

All requests must be in writing on official society or school letterhead. Please be as specific as possible in indicating what your needs are, and any deadlines that you may have. We would also appreciate an outline of the proposed project and a summary of the focus of your organization or school, as this information will help us to make an informed decision about your request for support.

2. Deadline for Donation requests: Please consider sending your request well in advance, preferably at least 6 weeks before the date you would need a response so that we have adequate time to respond because we cannot easily accommodate last minute requests. We will do our best to reply to all donation requests received and encourage you to contact us to confirm receipt of your request if you have not received a reply.
