Creating an Art News Community Profile

Your Art News Community Profile (what we call your "Art News login") allows you to post Art News and to keep track of the comments and posts you've made on our site. In the future, we hope to introduce more ways to help you stay connected and informed through our website.

Don't I already have a login with Opus?

Many people will have already registered with us as customers on our online store, and so you have a username and password. That login still exists, and you still need it to shop online with us, as well as to manage your subscriptions to our email. Read more about the differences between our two logins

The short explanation for this is that we actually have two pieces of software behind opusframing.com, so to take advantage of features of both, you need a login for each.

Creating an Art News login

To create your Art News login you will need a valid email address which you can check at least once during the process.

From the "Log in to post Art News" block, click "Create an Art News Profile"

To the right of the screen on the Art & Community News, How-to's, Demos & Workshops, and the About sections, there is a green block with the title "Log in to Post Art News." There should be a form to login there, and underneath the login form are a few links. Click the link that says "Creat an Art News Profile."

This box actually turns into a personal menu for you on certain pages, so if you can't find the login, but you can find a menu with your username at the top, it means you've logged in and you can't create another profile. If you want to create a new profile, just log out (but note: you may not use the same email address for more than one profile)

Fill out the form and the RECAPTCHA

Choose a username, provide your email address, and fill out the RECAPTCHA. RECAPTCHA is a service that verifies that you are human and not a spam bot. You can learn more by reading What is CAPTCHA? or by going directly to the RECAPTCHA website.

Success!

The success page is blank except for a message: that message will tell that our site will have sent an email message to the email address you provided. In that email will be a welcome message, your username, a temporary password, and a one-time login link. To complete registration, click that one-time login link.

After clicking the login link

When you click the login link, a new tab or window will open to our website again and you will automatically be logged in. You will be taken to your Art News Community Profile page. If you like, you can close the original window you were in (it should still be displaying the "Success" message, if you haven't touched it since).

On your Art News Community Profile page, you will see a green-bordered message about the login link. It will also urge you to change your password to something you will remember.

If you don't want to use the link, you can still log in. Just check that email for the temporary password, then go back to the website window and use the "Log in to Post Art News" login block to log yourself in. You will be taken to your new Art News Community Profile Page

To change your password

On your Art News Community Profile page, above your user name (the big title displayed) you should see a few "tabs". The one you are on is "View," but there is also "Edit" and "My Posts/Comments." To change your password, click "Edit" and follow the instructions on that page.
