Emily Carr University of Art + Design will be welcoming back alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends for a fun- filled party in celebration of our 85th year. The university will be hosting a dance party featuring music by Damaged Goods DJs, as well as special entertainment provided by Weekend Leisure. There will be prizes, a coffee lounge, photo booth, refreshments and fun!

CUT, DRAWN AND PAINTED: COLLAGE FOR ADULTS

Collage is great for people who have never taken an art class, but want to try something new. No previous Art experience needed! This 5 week course combines learning and experience using Collage techniques/materials combined with Drawing and Acrylic painting and words. You can create Collage greeting cards, journals or create Collage Art. The emphasis is on fun, learning at your own pace, individual projects and personal instruction in a small class setting. Demonstrations and a basic supply list are provided on the first night. Bring pencil and paper to first class. Collage supplies and chalk pastels are provided.

Art Visions is Back! Come and celebrate the return of the annual ArtVision show, Artvisions 2010 to Kelowna, BC. The Kelowna Art Gallery is currently recruiting volunteer docents for its 2010/2011 School Tour Program. Volunteering as a docent offers a terrific opportunity to work with the public and expand your knowledge of the visual arts. Training will begin at the end of September, and the Gallery provides all the training necessary to lead the tours.
