Michael Lawrence’s wistful depiction of a jersey-clad hockey youth gazing out at a team on an ice rink scored a win, as did Philip Wu’s imaginative use of bokeh for “Panhandle” and Aaron MacFarlane’s originality for Best Series....Read more

"Wavelength," Solo Exhibition

Collective Works Gallery

"Wavelength:" a solo exhibition by award-winning painter, Chin Yuen, B.F.A., M.A.

“Wavelength” is a series of acrylic paintings that visualize the emission of energy in conversations, ideas, dreams, and physical contacts. These energies create repercussions that are represented in imagined abstract scenarios.

Painting in an abstract language liberates me. It allows me to express movements, beauty, and forces through a unique combination of vibrant colours and textures that is non-literal. The process is intuitive, sensual, and analytical—a synthesis of different experiences and techniques that offer constant challenges and stimulations.
